Sagg Christmas Tree

Well, it's Christmas time and I thought I would post a picture of my favorite tree. It is located at the tip of the Sagaponack cemetery. I shot this '05, the last year it was illuminated. It is always special to come upon it in the middle of the night like some sort of beacon. Best wishes for the holidays.

Anish Kapoor, NYC

Many of you may have seen this extraordinary sculpture by Anish Kapoor that has been installed in Rockefeller Center but for those who haven't, here are some shots from an unveiling party on Fifth Avenue. The piece really plays with one's perception of space.

Bottle Art

These bottles with oversize stoppers caught my attention at Ruby Beets in Sag Harbor, Long Island. Blown by hand by an upstate New York artist, this is what chic art glass looks like.

Southern Style

Yes, I know southerners have been mixing cotton in with their bouquets since before the flood. However, I doubt anybody has done it with this much pizzazz--hundreds of blowsy garden roses, lemon leaves and puffs of cotton still on the branch. This bouquet was one of two seen at Richard Keith Langham's party for Angèle Parlange's charming new book Creole Thrift: Premium Southern Living Without Spending a Mint (HarperCollins).
